This Week's News
ALEX, the Auto Locksmiths' EXpo, returns to the Nottingham Belfry hotel this October the 13th and 14th. We've only got 4 stands left and visitor registration is running at a high level, so this is your chance to get in front of auto locksmiths from all over the country (and some from further afield!).
ALEX runs every two years and is the only UK show that's aimed specifically at auto locksmiths - instead of being a small fish in a big pond at a larger, more general expo, you can be sure you're putting yourself in front of trading auto locksmiths and those wishing to get into that area.
With an increasing number of homeowners and businesses becoming concerned about security, locksmiths are ideally placed to make the most of the increased popularity, affordability and functionality of video surveillance systems.
Arteco, a global provider of video event management solutions, has completed its integration with Paxton's networked access control system, Net2. The combination of these two leading solutions enables users to gain additional levels of intelligence from their security infrastructure.
* A third of architects say that schools have weak points in their perimeters and entrances
Jacksons Fencing, the UK perimeter security manufacturer and specialist, releases insights into architects' views on school safety from its report 'Protecting the Future'.
The world's first live hands-free translator, Tragl, has launched, enabling people that speak different languages to easily communicate with one another through a single headset, as it's found that the UK's language skills deficiency cost the British economy up to £17bn in the first quarter of 2018*.
The new tech works through a patented audio system that transmits the translation via a loudspeaker, and then the reply is translated to the headset's earpiece in the user's first language. The device could prove of great service where security guards might well encounter many individuals of various nationalities such as office reception areas, major tourist spots, airports, seaports, railway termini, and national borders.
MOBOTIX is expanding its management team to include two new members. Following a successful restructuring, MOBOTIX is paving the way for sustainable growth with its new members, both experienced industry experts: Christiane Kampling will now serve as Head of Marketing & Corporate Communications and Hartmut Sprave as Chief Technical Officer. Both started with the company on June 1, 2018.
Christiane Kampling is taking over as Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications at MOBOTIX. She has held similar positions over the past few years at Covestro, Xchanging Continental Europe, and ING Investment Management. Kampling was also able to gather valuable insights as Marketing Director at Dell.
