Skills for Security Accreditation endorses quality training

Skills for Security Accreditation is endorsing quality training across the Security industry both UK and internationally, allowing employers to make informed decisions regarding their training. Accreditation is the formal recognition that ensures training is meeting the appropriate criteria for best practice and that it meets or exceeds nationally recognised training standards.

Accreditation promotes accountability. It is the ultimate measure of quality, it's a professional seal of approval that assures clients and employees that the training they are undertaking has met rigorous standards and is a genuine quality assured programme.

Skills for Security's Accreditation endorses quality courses, training providers, trainers as well as in-house training schemes for the security industry, giving employers and individuals confidence that the training they are considering has been approved by the skills body.

Terri Jones at Skills for Security said "Our accreditation scheme was developed in response to requests from employers and providers, who were concerned about the quality of delivery of training within the private security industry.

It is our ambition to recognise high quality training and endorse it with the aim of increasing the availability and quality of training available to everyone who works in the security industry both internationally and within the UK."

Skills for Security Accreditation is a 3 step process. Training is matched to National Occupations Standards, which specify UK standards of performance that people are expected to achieve and the knowledge and skills they need to perform effectively providing the evidence to providers, trainers, employers and learners that training is being delivered to the highest possible standards. With accredited training, learners have assurance of receiving a quality education as well as gaining recognition by employers.

Karimah Pedro from the Security Industry Authority endorsed the programme saying "We remain committed to improving standards in the private security industry and so we support Skills for Security's accreditation scheme to set a benchmark for security training."

As developer of National Occupational Standards for the security industry, Skills for Security is best placed to help identify any gaps in skills and knowledge. Whether it's in-house training schemes or the development of trainers, Skills for Security will help provide sustainable solutions in order to certify that quality is being maintained.

Accreditation from Skills for Security, a nationally recognised brand, not only endorses quality but boosts the reputation of your training and sets a benchmark for security training, ensuring training is prepared to a high standard, reassuring the public that they can be confident in the qualifications that the sector has.
