'Mounties' asking for help after locksmith equipment stolen

* Stolen-van.jpgAirdrie RCMP is asking members of the public for any information they might have concerning the theft of a locksmith van from Mackenzie Way on February 27th.  Constable Jennifer Weedmark said an employee of ABOE Lockworks parked the van at the Mackenzie Way apartments where it was stolen sometime overnight.

The van was recovered the following morning south of Airdrie on Township Road 264 between 24 Street and Range Road 13, she said, but quipment and tools used to create keys as well as security information for some Calgary Housing Company buildings were missing from the van. It is estimated that the city will have to change locks on approximately 7,500 affordable housing units.

Airdrie RCMP Detachment at (403) 945-7200 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or online at tipsubmit.com
