Smart, secure key storage from Master Lock

* Master-Lock-blue.jpgAmerican super brand Master Lock has become the first security specialist to release a Bluetooth key lock box, that can be accessed via a smartphone, to the European market.

Backed by the latest technology and designed with Master Lock's 90 plus years of trusted security expertise, the smart, simple and secure lock box ensures homeowners will never have to hide keys under the doormat or a flower pot ever again.

Master Lock's Select Access Smart provides essential peace for mind for parents who worry their kids won't be able to get into the house after school or that they will have to get another set of keys cut.

Select Access Smart makes sharing access to a property more simple and secure than ever before. Builders, parents, children, plumbers, Airbnb guests and babysitters can be granted admission through a few taps on an iPhone or Android device. The choice of contacts is unlimited and the sharing is instant. At any time, the operator can cancel or add permissions and even choose to give key access for a minimum four-hour time period. Digitally invited guests will either be able to open the key safe using a numerical code or via the Master Lock Vault eLocks smartphone app. A tamper alert will be sent out to notify of any suspicious activity.

The front of the Bluetooth key lock box features a large back-lit numerical key pad with 10 digits, allowing easy access even on darkest of nights if a smartphone isn't easily accessible or out of juice. The CR123 cylinder battery provided has a life of two years and is primed for reliable and durable use. If Select Access Smart is out of energy and the user needs to quickly access the safe before replacing the battery, then there is a handy jump function below the bottom cover which temporarily reboots the device in case of emergency. Master Lock will even send the owner a notification if the battery is low.

The Master Lock Vault eLocks app is used to entirely manage Select Access Smart and can be downloaded free of charge from Google Play or the Apple App Store. It uses start-of the art security and decoding norms to warn the user of any attempt to steal digital information. Furthermore, data transmitted via Bluetooth between a smartphone and the fortified key safe has a very high level of encryption to ensure maximum protection against pirating.

Select Access Smart has been constructed from zinc and its dual locking mechanism guarantees optimum resistance against attacks, providing vital protection for those precious keys. Electrical components are neatly sealed in a special bumper making the key lock box resistant to outdoor conditions.

Other startups and technology companies have released smart homes security gadgets over the past few years, but Master Lock is a company that puts security first and has the expertise to back up its promises. The byword for 'padlock' in the United States, Master Lock could be the biggest brand you've never heard of. A global leader and innovator in security solutions, the company also invented the original laminated padlock and the first dial combination padlock.

Master Lock's legendary heritage and continued pursuit of excellence ensures the new outdoor lock box offers the highest levels of strength, reliability and functionality on the market.

Select Access Smart joins the ever growing world of smart home devices that allow the user to connect via their smartphone, ensuring day to day life is simpler and securer than ever before.
