Littlehampton leisure complex gets security fit with Mul-T-Lock

* Inspire-Leisure.jpgMul-T-Lock (UK)'s innovative Smartair Offline access control solution has been installed to form a combined mechanical and access control security solution at a local community leisure centre to enable better monitoring of door entry systems for staff and visitors.

Inspire Leisure in Littlehampton offers a diversified range of facilities, activities and services to the local community. Recently as part of a security audit requirement, it needed to upgrade staff security systems in place to allow better monitoring and secure door entry.

Local Locksmiths Arun Security Ltd who had initially upgraded the security systems to Mul-T-Lock's Interactive mechanical locking range, recommended using of Mul-T-Lock's Smartair Offline wall readers, as a simple access control system which could work from existing programming.

Says Gavin Lee of Inspire Leisure: "Because of the nature of the premises and all the different facilities, security is one area we have to review constantly. We have worked closely with Arun Security for many years to ensure we have the most up to date security systems in place, with up to 90 locks and padlocks currently all on one master key system.

"Most recently, we needed to find a way to monitor staff entry systems and Smartair Offline was recommended. The wall readers proved really easy to install and programme and we really can't fault the system. It is perfect to suit our needs and we are already looking to adopt the Smartair system for other areas of the premises."

Paul Rambridge of Arun Security added: "When Gavin contacted me to recommend a security solution to meet the audit requirements, Mul-T-Lock's Smartair immediately came to mind as an all in one flexible solution.

Smartair is a simple and intelligent way of upgrading the controllability and security level of any premises and as it's so easy to install and programme, there's minimal disruption to everyday activity."

With Smartair Offline, after the initial programming, cards or fobs can be easily added or removed at a central point as and when required. Time zones can also be set and an audit trail is available from the door handle or user card to make sure access is monitored for extra security.

Kevin Menzies, Mul-T-Lock Sales Manager concluded: "A leisure complex can often require complicated security systems, with the number of different facilities and entry points for staff and visitors. Working closely with Arun Security, Mul-T-Lock has been able to utilise its Combined Solution initiative, to ensure high quality mechanical locking systems like Interactive and Smartair access control solutions are all utilised as and where needed."

Smartair is supplied ready to fit in one pack, complete with handles, batteries, a fitting tool and spindle.

Additional spindles are also available to suit various door thicknesses and centres of 72mm or 92mm are offered to suit different lock cases, with other sizes available to order. It is now available from stock in stainless steel with a range of other finishes available to order.
