New app allows schools to lock down in just 3 seconds

Seconds matter when there is a threat at a school, and now Rainier Middle School is the first in the US with an app that gives its teachers the ability to lockdown their school in just 3 seconds.

Typically, if a teacher or staffer at a school sees a threat -- let's say, maybe a person with a gun, it takes 30-to-90 seconds to make the call to the office, verify what's happening, call 911 and send the school into a lockdown. A lot of damage can be in that time. Well, people in Rainier thought there had to be a faster way.
