Peter the Pirate has retired

Hello everyone,

Been very busy with work, had a nice contract upgrading 500 locks. No direct replacement so a lot of work modifying metal cabinet doors. Dunno how you lot have been but it’s been mad here.

Forgot to register for the ALA show so didn’t bother to go, in fact I’m considering flogging all my auto kit, all I get these days are the ones someone else has cocked up. Same really for the safe stuff last call-out I had for anything with a challenge in it was 9 months ago – the improved fuel consumption for the van is amazing without all that gear in it – I took it all out while I did the cabinet job – senseless leaving thousands of pounds worth of tools in a car park all day – what a difference in MPG.

I follow the rants on the forums with little interest these days. I shall not renew my membership this year. Trade associations are so busy preening themselves that they fail to notice that their elite club is destroying itself, with rolling up your trouser leg before you post or ssshhhh lets go back thirty years and tell nobody anything. Little of any value to anyone these days

I have joined the new PLF and I have to admit I have not posted yet, but by the same token I have not had time to read the hundreds of posts in the first month. What I have read is good quality technical stuff and the usual ‘P’ taking – all in good fun. Maybe I’ll make a post or two – but it seems my political rants are not welcome so I may have to be technical instead. Oh well!
