Comment: Once more the Locksmiths' Exhibition held over last weekend proved that this annual two-day event is the must attend best value for money show for both exhibitors and locksmiths. Despite the appalling weather over the wekend and especially on Sunday that saw accidents blocking the M42 and M1 motorways that doubtless prevented a few from getting there, most in fact did, and were welcomed not only by 'Austen's Angels' - two young ladies looking after subscriptions for Locks & Security Magazine and for the new members support group OPAL - but also hot bacon rolls, tea and coffee, but most importantly of all, a host of both new and tried and tested products on offer that locksmiths were only too keen to get their hands on! All this, and the best stand displays ever seen at the show, made last weekend's event a great success. Tradelocks' new Letterbox Tool was completely sold out on Saturday with extra stock having to be brought in overnight for Sunday; several exhibitors re-booked for 2013 immediately, with some asking for more space. More and more suppliers were delighted to offer standing discounts to members of OPAL, notably MPL with a 15% reduction on the price of its popular Lock Puller. Locks & Security Magazine will be bringing you a photo report f the show in the next issue, out at the end of March, while details of more and more OPAL benefits will be listed in this e-zine in the coming weeks. So if you are thinking of joining OPAL (details elsewhere on this page) do so soon, as once you have your membership card you can immediately start taking adantage of the great savings to be had by every member.
