Locksmith sues Google over alleged 'click fraud' Seattle-based 123 Lock & Key says in its court papers that when it began advertising on a 'pay per click' scheme with Google it received around 15 clicks throughs a day, with around 8 out of 10 being followed up by a phone call. This level of activity remained stable for a period of months, then shot up to between 100 to 150 click throughs a day, often, it is claimed, with a flurry of clicks within a single minute. "These clicks never converted into phone calls," says the company. As a result the company ceased advertising on Google.
