Security Reaches a New Level at Scott County Jail
Scott County Jail sought a real-time video analytics solution for the detection of unauthorized people in restricted zones. Windowparts has opened a new branch at Staples Corner in North London. It's the first time they have opened outside of their main premises in Luton and marks the first stage of an ambitious expansion plan. Windowparts are now firmly established as one of the UK's major supplier of hardware, locks, tools and ancillaries for the double glazing spares, repairs and maintenance market. Fairfield General locks down on access control The offices, ward entrances and restricted staff areas at Fairfield General Hospital in Bury, Lancashire have been given an upgrade by replacing the old mechanical locks with new electronic CL2255 locks from Codelocks.
Seventy of the electronic codelocks were installed after being recommended by specialist supplier of access control products, Walker Security Resources Ltd who had used the CL2255 locks on a previous refurbishment project at Rochdale Infirmary. BAE buys Irish security specialist British defence giant BAE Systems has agreed to buy Dublin-based financial security provider Norkom Group for more than £180 million. The board of Norkom unanimously recommended that shareholders accept the offer. BAE subsequently acquired more than 57 per cent of Norkom shares, including undertakings from the directors. Norkom's financial crime and compliance services are used in more than 100 countries. BAE chief executive Ian King said the deal "would provide an opportunity for accelerated growth in the fast growing cyber and intelligence services sector." Samsung appoint Access Control BDM Samsung Techwin Europe Ltd has recruited Paul Taylor as its Access Control Business Development Manager for the UK and Ireland. Paul, whose career in the electronic security industry spans eighteen years, has for the last two and a half years worked for ACT (Access Control Technology) where he was Sales Manager. He has previously performed sales roles within the access control divisions of Siemens Security Products and Gardiner Security. Larson Electronics has released a commercial grade LED light designed to replace traditional fluorescents that is suitable for use in wet areas and durable enough to withstand rigorous handling. The Magnalight WAL-PFL-4LED-120-10 portable LED floodlight system produces 45% more light than similar T8 fluorescent fixtures while drawing less than 1 amp of electricity. The entire unit is designed for durability and ruggedness and can withstand significant abuse without serious damage or degradation in performance. Raytec Design IR for the Pelco Esprit
Raytec have launched RAYMAX ESP, a range of illuminators purpose designed to work in conjunction with the Pelco Esprit, the world’s leading camera positioning system. Allowing the Esprit to achieve high quality night-time images up to 100m in total darkness, the RAYMAX ESP units have been approved by Pelco, who engineered a specific version of Esprit to house the new illuminators (specific IR Lighting SMR model # 1-1GA103). Master Lock brings jobs back home Master Lock, based in Milwaukee, has started bringing some manufacturing jobs from China back to the United States. Master Lock never completely shut down their manufacturing facility in Milwaukee (which has been operating since 1921) when they moved most of the 1,300 jobs to China and Mexico in the early 1990s. Shares of Infinova, one of the world’s leading video surveillance systems manufacturers, were successfully listed on the Chinese Stock Exchange on December 24, 2010. Infinova will use the US$300 million to grow both organically and through acquisitions. The current market value of Infinova is now US$1.2 billion. With company headquarters in Monmouth Junction, New Jersey, USA, the Initial Public Offering (IPO) was placed on the Chinese Stock Exchange because it is one of the top IPO markets globally. The Roto Group is on course to achieve its highest ever worldwide sales figures, although the directors have urged there is "no place for euphoria" because the international marketplace remains difficult.
