Almost half of Brits leave their valuables vulnerable

Yet the average value of a person’s most prized possession stands at almost £5000, with laptops, jewellery and bicycles topping the list of the most insured items. Data reveals most popular valuables to insure for each age group, while 21-25s value tech items, and those aged 71-75 most value their hearing aids.

Most popular hiding places for valuables include in a safe (23%), secret compartments in furniture (21%) and in amongst clothes (17%)
One in ten (10%) people won’t wear their most prized possession over fears of it being stolen.

34% of UK companies close down after falling victim to ransomware

Data presented by the Atlas VPN research team reveals that 34% of businesses in the UK are forced to close down as a consequence of falling victim to ransomware attacks.

The vast majority of firms have experienced substantial business impact due to ransomware attacks, including revenue loss and brand harm, unforeseen personnel cutbacks, and even the shutdown of the business altogether, according to key findings in this new report.

Many websites utilise third-party tracker scripts to collect data about visitors' browsing habits. These insights can then be sold to other companies and used to bombard the visitors with ads and marketing offers.
