Two-day training on eeproms and microprocessors starts next week Lockdecoders tell us that they have just two spaces available for their soldering class starting on Tuesday next week. CCTV Operations NOS out for consultation The National Occupational Standards (NOS) for CCTV Operations have been reviewed by an advisory working group of practitioners in the sector which decided that only two of the 11 technical NOS required minor amendments. Those two standards are now out for wider consultation within the industry before the final version is drafted. A British prison union official says a Birmingham prison officer's set of keys has gone missing and now every lock at one of the country's largest prisons holding some 1400 inmates must now be replaced. Terry Fullerton of the Prison Officers Association said Friday he's been told the set went missing a couple days ago and an investigation is underway. He says the keys could have been stolen and copied. Birmingham Prison became the first British prison to be privatised when security firm G4S took over this month. G4S says it doesn't comment on security but that contingency measures are in place. Security firm couple foil factory raiders after daring car chase Brave security firm bosses have been praised by a judge for chasing thieves after they spotted them raiding a Harborough business. Alan Savill and his wife Wendy, directors of Harborough-based Mannix Security, followed the thieves in a dramatic car pursuit through town after they witnessed the break-in at Reiker Shoes in Northampton Road while walking their dogs. A luggage ramp crew at Los Angeles International Airport retrieved the .38-caliber handgun after it tumbled from a duffel bag they were loading onto a flight. The owner took a later flight, and the gun was turned over to police. Lock Raider, the new face of Tradelocks
A man who used a firm that provided security for T in the Park as a front to defraud taxpayers out of £1 million has been jailed for almost four years reports The Herald, Scotland. David Stewardson, 55, was sentenced at Edinburgh Sheriff Court after he admitted he failed to declare £503,000 to Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs (HMRC). He also evaded paying £541,000 in income tax and national insurance. More than £3m was put through Stewardson's company account over a four-year period but the firm, Westcoast Group Security, failed to pay any VAT or National Insurance contributions. It is now time for wider consultation on the changes that have been made and practitioners in these two sectors are invited to have their say. This is an important part of the review process and all comments will go back to the advisory working groups for consideration. |
