Locksmith defies stereotypes and opens a pink door to a successful career in a male-dominated industry
By Sarah Swain
Melanie Greenwood is honest about the reason she decided to become a locksmith. The 22-year-old confessed she was so staggered at the AU$150 she had to pay when she locked herself out of her family apartment that she started thinking about it as a career.
And when she saw an advert for apprentice locksmith, she applied - and got it. Now, after four years of studying, plus working for a locksmith the young woman has set up her own business.
