Southampton based locksmith celebrates his 40th year in the trade
A Hampshire locksmith will celebrate his fortieth year in the trade on the 1st of July this year. Peter Griffiths began his training in 1976, before setting up his own business, Advanced Locksmiths, in 1982.
Since then, the Southampton based company has been providing a wide range of locksmith's services to customers throughout Hampshire, Dorset and West Sussex. Advanced Locksmiths was formed as a family company and is still owned and run by Peter and his wife Fiona, who deals with the accounting side of the business.
Over forty years, Peter has developed considerable experience and skill in providing a wide range of services, including key cutting, lock repair and replacement, and replacing or re-programming electronic car keys.
Over the years, as locking technology has continued to develop, there have been many changes to the locksmith industry. In 2016, the majority of the worked carried out by Advanced Locksmiths, who are members of the Auto Locksmiths Association, has been on vehicles.
As well as helping people enter their vehicles, they can replace and repair keys for most popular models of car or van.
Advanced Locksmiths is a very mobile business, with Peter travelling to customers throughout Hampshire, as well as the neighbouring counties of Dorset and West Sussex.
Peter says: "I have been breaking into people's homes, cars and businesses for forty years and never spent a day behind bars! I'm proud to have helped so many people in the last four decades."
