Locksmith's Exhibition 2011: Show Preview

A total of 10 different ABUS 83 padlocks, from a 45mm brass through to a CEN5 80mm solid steel security block, can not only be supplied with a standard 1A keyway as an off the shelf security solution, but can also be ready made up with APf unique registered sections. This means 83 Series padlocks can be retro fitted to existing APf systems, and or new systems can be planned and supplied with appropriate padlock security specified into the needs of the location.
Included in the 83 Series padlocks are 'Extreme' models with rust and grime protection, as well as the 'Submariner' that has confounded all outside testing by proving totally rust and corrosion free even when applied to a North Sea wind farm. All models can be adjusted quickly to be either key or none key retaining and can be fitted with an ABUS 'BKW' shackle chain attachment, so these valuable pieces of outdoor security stay where they have been located.
Prices for 83 Series with the A1 keyways range from £28.00 RRP for the 45mm brass, to £42.50 for the 'Extreme' 63mm closed shackle, so integrated security is also good value. The 83 range is supported by FOC merchandising & POS, being revealed at the 'Locksmith Exhibition' at East Midlands Conference Centre 5-6th March, and Toolbank Spring Trade Shows.

Advanced Keys, Stand B3
From the mid 1990's passenger vehicles have been fitted with transponder immobiliser systems, which have increased considerably in complexity. These systems involve the inclusion of a transponder inside the key. When the key is inserted into the ignition, the transponder communicates with the immobiliser. If the key is verified, the immobiliser communicates with the vehicle ECU and allows the vehicle to start.
One of the critical factors when programming additional/replacement keys, is the key itself, which in many cases must be original. Advanced Keys was created to provide a comprehensive range of genuine keys/remotes and transponders to the independent workshop/locksmith.
