Twelve reasons to buy a Miracle A5 automatic vehicle key cutter

says Pete Southern of Lockdecoders

In a conversation held at the recent Locksmiths' Exhibition where the machine was one of the sell-out products on show, LASN was outlined the twelve reasons why a locksmith would choose to invest in one of their machines.

"First of all there's decoding," says Pete. "The Miracle A5 has an automatic decoder. Second is frame construction - the Miracle A5 has a precision cast iron alloy frame for permanent stability. That is very important for a van-based cutting machine.

"3. Safety features - the Miracle A5 has a full safety cut out on the front windowed cover. The machine will not cut keys unless this is closed - the software will not permit it. The A5 also has a large push-button emergency off switch.

"4. Software - the Miracle A5 comes complete with Pocket Codemaster software. This is how you update the PDA and SD card software. It also allows you to make new key biting cards for new keys to be saved to the SD card. It also has PC software that allows your laptop or PC to talk to the A5.

"5. Power versatility. The Miracle A5 is a genuine 12 volt machine which can operate even off a cigarette lighter, and can have a magnetically clamped external battery providing one hour's continuous cutting from a full charge. Of course, it also has an inbuilt step down transformer so that 220-240 Volts AC can be connected.

"6. Entry of cutting data. This can be done by direct entry with a large menu screen; by entry from a PC or laptop; by entry from the supplied PDA with its Bluetooth connection.

"7. Updates: by direct download from the internet to the updatable SD card supplied. Couldn't be easier.

"8. Codes accepted: the Miracle A5 can have the key cuts provided by Instacode entered directly into the keypad. The machine also allows these cuts to be entered into the PDA. The machine recognises Silca, Keyline, Ilco & JMA key types. New key patterns can be input for bitting by the user creating a new pattern card in minutes.

"9. Types of key that can be cut: the Miracle A5 can cut laser-cut and edge cut vehicle keys. It can also cut cruciform keys such as are used by Citroen and other French makes. Additional clamps enable the Miracle A5 to cut both Ford and Jaguar Tibbe and even FO19 cylinder keys such are used by London taxis and LDV commercial. 6mm shank cutters with 2mm and 1.5mm diameter are available. This clamp (Tibbe clamp) is not yet available in Australia.

"10. The importance of the 3 axis machine. The effect of this is that the Miracle A5 senses key thickness before making any cuts. This is an automatic process which compensates for the fact that all keys are not of equal thickness and many keys may not be of the same thickness as original OEM keys. In this way the correct depth of cut is assured and cutter breakage avoided. No manual thickness adjustment is required of the locksmith.

"11. Cutting speeds. The Miracle A5 offers a choice of fast cutting for brass keys or cutting at a reduced speed for steel and nickel steel blanks.

"12. CE certification. The Miracle A5 is fully CE certified by inspection, not just by self-certification."

Having already run out of fingers to count out the points as he made them to us, Pete then proffered up a summary:

"The Miracle A5 was purpose-designed by a professional auto locksmith to be the perfect automatic key-cutter for the mobile auto locksmith. 31 years of practical experience went into the functional design. No other car key cutting machine has that pedigree," he emphasised.
