G4S investigates explosives and drugs arrests

The investigation follows the arrest of a woman charged with suspected possession of drugs and explosives, near London's Olympic Park complex, and a man at his home in Wales a day later.

Police said in a statement that the woman, a dog handler for the firm, whose car was stopped and searched, had been bailed to return to an east London police station in late April.

Police said the arrests were "not terrorist related."

Media reports have said the explosives were believed to be Semtex.

G4S, who have signed a contract worth at least 100 million pounds as the 2012 Games' official security services provider, said in a statement they were assisting police with enquiries.

"G4S take breach of operational processes very seriously," said the company.
