A new Virtual Pivot CCTV solution for covert surveillance from MEL Secure Systems

* MEL-Virtual-Pivot-Camera-2a.jpgMEL Secure Systems, a leading developer of surveillance and security solutions, has introduced a new Virtual Pivot CCTV solution. This innovative and unique solution provides full pan tilt and zoom functionality and has been designed to meet the specific needs of law enforcement and government agencies in a wide range of covert surveillance applications.

The new MEL Virtual Pivot camera has a conical lens that provides crystal clear images, with full PTZ, through holes as small as 2mm diameter. It mounts securely to vehicle panels or box hides and can even be placed inside existing street lights and furniture with no visible signs or tell-tale graphics to show that CCTV monitoring is taking place.

This camera has a 1/3" SONY FCB-EX20 CCD Image Module which offers a high resolution 540 TVL picture quality in both colour and black and white as well as delivering excellent low light performance. An IR cut filter provides extra sensitivity.

Use of the Pelco D control protocol enables integration with a wide range of industry-standard transmission equipment. The MEL camera is also compatible with COFDM Video and UHF Telemetry enabling high quality, interference-free images to be received at distances of up to 4km without requiring line of sight. It is available in 1.3GHz, 2.4GHz, and 5.8GHz bands and can also be used with IP networks and is compatible with all existing MEL rapid deployment kits.

An HD version will be launched later in 2011.
