Build a better mousetrap...

As Ralph Waldo Emerson never said, "Build a better mousetrap, and the world will beat a path to your door". Build a better exhibition with a gleaming reputation, and it seems locksmiths will beat a path to your venue...

The Auto Locksmiths EXhibition (ALEX), the only strictly auto locksmith exhibition in Europe, was held last weekend at the Nottingham Belfry Hotel. Locksmiths came in droves by car, rail and air from all corners of the UK and even across the channel!

We had visitors from Scotland, Bournemouth, Devon, London and even Ireland, Belgium and Holland, many of whom took advantage of the excellent overnight facilities available at the Nottingham Belfry Hotel. A few even floated in from wet Wales.

At ALEX we like to let our exhibitors do the talking - here's what a few of them thought of this year's show:

From first time exhibitors, Autowave: "Our feet have finally hit the ground after a very busy weekend! I'd like to take this opportunity to thank you for providing the platform for such a great exhibition. I didn't get a chance to have a good look around as we were constantly busy, but if the traffic at our stand was anything to go by then it was well worth it for all that attended. Good work."

From our sponsor, KAP Diagnostics: "Lockexpo in March is a great show but it is about 80% locksmiths - ALEX is a smaller dedicated exhibition and the visitors are 100% focused on what they want what they need and the price they will pay."

From exhibitor, Keyprogrammers: (Saturday at show close) Chris said: "I am debating if I should drive back to base and get more stock. I underestimated the force of sales - if tomorrow is only half as good I don't have enough stock..."
