Coronavirus has become a breeding ground for hackers to attack virtual businesses
The COVID-19 era has drastically changed our lives in many ways; it has also fuelled the need for companies to have employees work from home more than ever before.
The ability to work virtually is good news for many companies and professionals. This has also helped companies understand that their employees can be effective working remotely.
In this situation where companies need remote employees to work effectively AND securely, TruGrid is an important component in protecting the remote connectivity of the employees and protecting confidential company data on those remote machines.
According to a report released last February by the *CERT Coordination Center (CERT/CC) about a vulnerability affecting multiple Virtual Private Network (VPN) applications, an attacker could exploit these such VPN vulnerabilities to take control of an affected system.
*CERT also warned that such unpatched VPN servers continue to be an attractive target for malicious actors. Affected organizations that have not applied the software patch to fix such remote code execution (RCE) vulnerabilities, could become compromised in an attack and company data could be stolen.
The good news is this problem can be easily solved by:
* Replacing VPNs & implementing Work-From-Home technology such as TruGrid SecureRDP, which includes multifactor authentication with push authentication and rapid deployment functionality.
* Protecting companies' data from theft or loss with TruGrid BitLocker Encryption, which manages Windows BitLocker encryption on Windows desktops, laptops, and servers.
* Implementing TruScan Monitoring, enabling companies to quickly identify and fix compromised corporate credentials.
