Award-Winning Wayzn is your personal doorman

* Wayzn_installed.jpgFor those with sliding patio doors, security has often meant dropping a sawed-off broom handle into the runner and hoping for the best. But, now, there's Wayzn for Doors, a new device that not only acts as a solid security bar but also doubles as a smart door opener.

Choose from giving Alexa the commands, using the built-in motion sensors, or working it yourself via the app for iPhone and Android and an internet-connected camera. DIY, tool-free installation is so easy anyone can do it, and when not in use, just flip it up and out of the way.

Wayzn for Doors provides a new level of freedom for people and for their pets too. It lets people safely and securely open and close their sliding door from anywhere, allowing access by dogs or trusted people. It can be controlled via a free mobile app for iPhone or Android which alerts users when the built-in motion detector senses the dog. It also can be operated via integrations with other smart devices, such as internet cameras, sensors or digital assistants like Alexa.

"If you're able to open your door with one hand, Wayzn for Doors should have no trouble opening and closing it," said Adam Smithline, Wayzn co-founder with Mike Demele. "Along with not having to cut a hole into your house, it's great for older dogs, pets with limited mobility, and larger pets who may have difficulty using traditional dog doors."

Wayzn for Doors works with most brand name 5-, 6- and 8-foot sliding glass doors in good condition, regardless of weight or which direction they open. It installs in minutes without anything needing to be attached to the door or home. It uses advanced AI to keep pets, people and homes safe, and operates off any standard wall outlet (12-volt DC power adapter included) and 2.4 GHz WiFi connection (dual-band is OK).

Thanks to a highly secure Internet of Things platform and architecture, Wayzn for Doors is protected against attacks and sensitive information is never passed over WiFi by default. When engaged, Wayzn for Doors also acts as a physical bar to keep the door firmly closed so the door can remain unlocked. If not in use, it swivels upright and out of the way.

Wayzn for Doors is the winner of a 2020 Protolabs Cool Idea Award and was a CES Editors' Choice winner and CES 2020 Innovation Award honoree. Wayzn for Doors also edged out Sony and LG to win the Consumer Technology Association's Mark of Excellence Award for Emerging Technology.

At present the product is for US only, but overseas distributor enquiries are welcome.
