City Lock & Safe keeping it in the family
This year, Mul-T-Lock partners City Lock & Safe celebrate their 65th anniversary as a traditional locksmith, still under family ownership, and currently in its third generation.
Stockport based, City Lock & Safe is a member of the Master Locksmith Association, and has established itself as one of the North West’s leading Master Locksmiths, Safe Engineers and Architectural Ironmongers.
The valued locksmith also has a close connection to Mul-T-Lock, as Gavin Hough, Mul-T-Lock’s Regional Sales Manager for the Midlands and North West completed his apprenticeship with the team and his dad Neville worked there for 55 years from leaving school to retirement.
Says George Clarke, Director City Lock & Safe: “It’s amazing to think how far City Lock & Safe has come since it was established. I am sure our founding members, including my grandpa Ray, would be immensely proud of the company and team growth, which has all occurred without losing our family ties.

City Lock & Safe operates across residential and commercial sites, specialising in offering Mul-T-Lock master key systems as a smart, scalable and efficient way to manage keys in operation. Working with customers to design cost-effective systems around locking requirements and incorporate a wide range of security solutions for home and business.
Access control can be integrated into a master key system to add new levels of protection, site and identity management.
Gavin Hough, Mul-T-Lock Regional Sales Manager added: “City Lock & Safe will always hold a special place for me, as it’s where my dad worked through his entire career and I served my apprenticeship. I got to work ‘on the bench’ and really understand what’s involved in the locksmith industry.
