Mul-T-Lock combats the rise in vehicle crime

* MTL-MVP2000.jpgAs vehicle crime continues to be a growing concern, security specialist Mul-T-Lock is offering new solutions, specifically designed to address the alarming rise in thefts and break-ins and offer enhanced security and peace of mind.

There was a 24.9% year-on-year increase in the number of vehicles stolen across England and Wales, according to new data published by the Office of National Statistics.

Analysis shows that there were 130,389 vehicles stolen last year, compared to 104,435 during the previous year (2021).

Further surveys suggest theft from vehicles rose by 9.9%, with 212,900 people having items stolen from their vehicle compared to 193,647 the year before.  Tradespeople are 10 times more likely to experience tool theft from a vehicle than they are from a building site or their place of work.

Says Suresh Peri, Head of Commercial and Technical at Mul-T-Lock UK: “The statistics speak for themselves when it comes to vehicle crime, and worryingly only set to increase against a cost-of-living crisis.  The impact is naturally devastating – whether as a sole trader, small or large fleet operator – the potential for loss of livelihood and significant cost implications is extremely significant.

“We believe we have a duty of care, with our network of professional locksmiths on behalf of our customers to raise these concerns proactively. In addition, Mul-T-Lock MVP2000 offers the most comprehensive option available, which is simple to install, maintain, and operate, giving commercial van owners immediate protection and comfort.”

Designed to be professionally installed and supplied with secure fixings, Mul-T-Lock MVP2000 is an all-in-one, non-corrosive lock body solution that offers no hanging parts that could damage the paintwork around the lock.

The unique angled lock body of Mul-T-Lock MVP2000 has been carefully created to deflect blows from a hammer and together with the steel locking bolt adds extra protection for side and rear doors.

Claire Blakemore, Mul-T-Lock UK Managing Director adds: “We are doing everything we can to support vehicle owners, tradespeople, and fleets against this rise in vehicle crime.  It’s just one way to show how we are committed to providing comprehensive and reliable solutions to protect their valuable assets. With MVP2000, alongside a new suite in development, vehicle owners can have confidence with Mul-T-Lock in the security of their vehicles, knowing that they are protected with the latest technology to deter and prevent unauthorised access and attacks."

Mul-T-Lock is preparing to launch a new range of vehicle security solutions that will include an entry-level system as well as an upgraded robust construction option for rear and side doors. These products are designed to provide optimum defence and protection.
