Why you should invest in better quality maglocks

* CDVI-maglock.jpgElectro-magnetic locks are at the heart of many access control systems. Without reliable locking, the access control serves no purpose at all. Your access control system is only ever as good as your locks.

Maglocks seem simple at first glance. But what makes a good one good?

HOLDING FORCE

High-quality maglocks do what they say on the tin. The holding force that they state on the packaging is reliably delivered.

Unfortunately, not all maglocks are properly tested at manufacture. Under testing, some lower quality maglocks deliver significantly less holding force than stated.

All CDVI maglocks are rigorously tested for their full stated holding force before they leave the factory. You can trust that they will deliver what they promise.

TOP-QUALITY COMPONENTS

100% Copper Coils

Inside every maglock is a coil. It's this that generates the magnetic field that holds the door shut.

The best electro-magnets (like ours 😉) are made with 100% copper coils. Copper conducts electricity better and delivers better performance and durability. Coils made with copper-coated aluminium just don't last or perform as well.

Robust Casings

Better magnets come in better casings. Sounds obvious, right? The thicker and more robust the casing, the more physical strength the maglock has against vandalism and brute force.

Lower-quality casings are thinner and weaker. Cutting corners here degrades the overall security and robustness of the installation.

STANDARD BRACKETS

We all like to make our lives easier, don't we? Interchangeable brackets on maglocks do just that.

A lot of low-end maglocks come with L-brackets that are specific to that maglock. That might be fine the first time you fit it, but what if a magnet needs maintenance or replacement? It can be difficult to find and obtain the exact bracket you need.

Luckily, CDVI magnet brackets come with standard fittings to make everything easier.
