IMOU launches the Cruiser 2 AI outdoor camera
IMOU, a leading global provider of smart security solutions, launches the latest in its smart home portfolio, the Cruiser 2. IMOU’s first full-colour smart pan & tilt outdoor camera is equipped with IMOU SENSE technology.
This, together with its elegant appearance and the option for either a 3MP or 5MP resolution version, provides an unparalleled smart security experience.
The Cruiser 2 is designed to give a full Panoramic view with 360° Smart Tracking to ensure every part of the house is covered and protected. With its two pan & tilt angles, the camera can rotate 340° horizontally and the vertical pan & tilt rotates 90°. It can track the movements of people and vehicles automatically to ensure security and peace of mind, or the rotation of the lens can be remotely controlled for a panorama view.
Thanks to its built-in Hi-fi microphone and high resolution, the Cruiser 2 delivers clear two-way video communication that can be turned on through one button on Imou Life App. This enables users to be able to communicate with anyone who is at their home.
Programmed to give smarter and more accurate monitoring of the home, it is a step up from many of its competitors. Most current home security cameras’ AI algorithms are included with the chip on the device, however due to the limited chip computing power, the performances of algorithms are usually generic which can cause false alarms or detection failure. In order to enhance AI performances and user experience, IMOU invested in R&D and developed IMOU SENSE™ with its own improved algorithms. With the IMOU self-developed AI algorithms, the detection accuracy, speed and robust level are all improved on the Cruiser 2.
As an outdoor camera, the Cruiser 2 can detect humans and vehicles easily with a recognition accuracy of 99%. Combined with IMOU SENSE™, the AI detection is more efficient and accurate, with lab data showing the algorithm precision rate is increased by 20% to 50%. When the camera detects people or vehicles moving in the detection area, algorithms are able to recognise objects and process data in 20 milliseconds (0.02 seconds), providing real-time alerts, taking just 0.6s to push the notification to the Imou Life App on a smartphone. Furthermore, the omission ratio is reduced by 35% to 50%, and false alarms reduced up to 95%, meaning users no longer need to worry about items such as leaves, birds or insects triggering the alarm.
Providing high quality and clear images, the Cruiser 2 includes a CMOS image sensor and a F1.6 large aperture and professional optical lens. With 3MP and 5MP industry leading resolutions, it presents crisp and clear image quality so that everything can be captured. Performing even in low light conditions, the camera has different night vision modes that can be adjusted according to the users’ requirements, whether wanting night vision to remain in full colour all the time or to turn on full colour only when there is an event to save energy.
These modes are:
Smart Mode: The camera will automatically turn into colour mode from infrared mode when suspicious motion is detected.
Full-color mode: Thanks to the built-in spotlights, the night vision is now turned up and in full colour.
Infrared Mode: Advanced IR algorithm provides clear black-and-white pictures even in darkness.
Off Mode: Turn off all night vision modes infrared and spotlights are turned off.
Another useful feature on the camera is the Active Deterrence and Customisable Alert Tone. When the active deterrence mode is turned on, if a moving object appears in the detection area, the camera will automatically trigger a high-decibel alarm sound to deter and scare off the intruder, and at the same time push a notification to the mobile App. In addition to the traditional alarm tone, users can customise it using DIY alert tones based on their requirements depending on the actual scenarios.
With IP66 water-resistance, the Cruiser 2 is able to survive dust penetration and can easily handle rain and wind, ensuring safety around the clock. The camera also supports the latest Wi-Fi 6 standards for increased data transfer speeds and better wall penetration for a wider security range.
There are 3 options for users to choose from for the storage of video clips. For cloud storage, the recorded videos are stored in the cloud, with the data strictly encrypted through the whole process, so video footage can be saved even if the camera is stolen or smashed. Users can also use an SD card and NVR to store videos and the camera supports an SD card up to 256 GB and 24 hours of continuous video recording and local saving. Once the storage is full, the old recordings will be covered with new ones. Cruiser 2 also supports the Onvif protocol which enables it’s compatible with most of the mainstream NVR.
