HKC Security and Abloy UK appoint BDM to drive digital growth

* Steven-Thomas.jpgHKC Security and Abloy UK have appointed Steven Thomas as Business Development Manager – Professional Digital, supporting opportunities to bring together the Group’s expertise in intrusion detection, wireless security, and digital access solutions.

Steven joins the role with extensive experience across the electronic security industry, having worked with manufacturers, installers, integrators, and end users across wireless technology, access control, and digital locking. His appointment will focus on identifying new business opportunities and developing integrated solutions that address customer needs.

Steven has also worked with manufacturers on product testing, certification, and bringing products to market. This broad industry experience has given him a valuable understanding of the technical, regulatory, and commercial considerations involved in developing successful security solutions.

In his new role, Steven will focus on identifying opportunities to connect HKC’s expertise in intrusion and wireless security with Abloy’s digital access technologies. This includes exploring potential applications involving Digital Access Solutions like SMARTair and Aperio, as well as opportunities to extend wireless monitoring into sectors including education, social care, staff safety, perimeter protections, and environmental monitoring.

A key priority will be to develop solutions that make it easier for installers and integrators to offer customers a broader range of capabilities, while keeping systems easy to use. Steven will work with teams across HKC and Abloy to identify existing technologies that can be brought together to create new commercial opportunities.

Steven said: “There is so much capability within HKC and Abloy, and for me the opportunity is about joining some of those dots, bringing security, wireless technology, and digital access together in ways that help our customers. If we can keep it simple and prove the value, that’s the bit I am genuinely excited for.”
