Pickbuster- have a bump-er Christmas

* pickbuster-box.jpgWith increasing public concern over lock bumping, there's never been a better time to profit from the unique solution developed by Tradelocks - Pickbuster.

Awareness of lock bumping and Pickbuster amongst consumers is at an all time high, thanks to the Tradelocks national education campaign, 'Ban the Bump Key', which has highlighted the situation.

Now, with Christmas just around the corner, Pickbuster represents real peace of mind for many homeowners and a chance to make some precious sales for the installer.

"There is a still a huge proportion of homes that are vulnerable to lock bumping, but until now, trying to sell products to an unsuspecting customer has been tough - the public just didn't realise the problem existed," says Tradelocks Sales Director Chris Pankhurst.

"That situation is changing but the fact remains that bump keys are still readily available, meaning that the 65% of properties that are fitted with this type of lock are still at high risk. The potential market for installers who offer Pickbuster is enormous.

"We all know that during the Festive period opportunistic crime increases and consumers are often looking to reinforce their home security. Pickbuster does just that, but also has great profit potential for the installer."

With Pickbuster, a high tack lubricant which is easily applied to the inside of a cylinder, locks are protected against bumping.

Alternatively there's a mechanical solution. Basic cylinder locks with no enhanced security features can be upgraded to UAP+ Zero Lift Kitemark Cylinders which have recently been further advanced with stainless steel anti-drill pins for extra strength and security. These cylinders are anti-drill, anti-bump, anti-pick and anti-snap and have met vital performance requirements with the British Kitemark as a visible stamp to confirm quality. Offering true value to consumers, they have also been approved by the police accredited scheme 'Secured by Design'.
