This is our 100th issue! Thanks to all of our advertising supporters for helping make achieving this milestone possible. Now on with the news:

Following the announcement last week of the new Auto Locksmiths EXpo (ALEX) to be held next October, the following companies have come on board as sponsors: UAP/Tradelocks, Lockdecoders, KAP Diagnostics, and Hickleys.

Stands are selling fast (over one third sold), and as space is limited, everyone interested in taking part is advised to act now. W: http://alexpo.co.uk

Last week's public sector workers strike was a bit of a damp squib and the mainstream media reported reduced queues at airports but was that only because everyone was waved through? Much has also been made of the burgeoning security costs of the London Olympics, a reported £7m an hour for the opening and closing ceremonies alone. While taxpayers consider such eye-watering sums to be too high, there will obviously be those within the security sector who will be doing very well out of it. When the Olympics were last held in London, in 1948, security was a couple of blokes in straw boaters and a few coppers taken off the beat. How times change!
