* Anvil_Gareth_Peter.jpgA locksmith's firm has been recognised for its efforts in giving training to injured soldiers to help them set up their own businesses.

Anvil Locksmiths are honoured to announce that they have been recognised in The Royal British Legion's Friends of The Forces Awards backed by Prince Harry. The prestigious award has been given for the exceptional support offered to the British Armed Forces.

Peter Price and Gareth Patterson. Of Anvil Locksmiths in Monkseaton have been presented with the award by the Royal British Legion to acknowledge the helping hand the business provides in giving trainees the tool kits and the skills to set up on their own.

To date more than 20 ex-soldiers have been trained by Anvil, and those being treated at the Headley Court rehabilitation centre in Surrey, are also being invited to enrol.

According to Peter Price, "It has been a wonderful experience to work with these lads, and I am very humbled that the Royal British Legion has considered us for this accolade."

Andy Grant and former marine Simon Jones are but two of those helped by Anvil Locksmiths. Simon commented: "The knowledge I gained in such a short space of time was incredible, and I will be utilising my new-found skills to the best of my ability. This award is well and truly deserved."

Royal British Legion county manager Andrew Drake added; "Anvil Locksmiths has put in an exceptional effort to offer help and support to the armed forces family, and we are extremely pleased to be recognising its dedication."
