David Greer finalist at West Midlands IOD Director of the Year Awards

* David-Greer.jpgSkills for Security's Chief Executive David Greer beat stiff opposition to reach the finals of the West Midlands Director of the Year Awards organised by the Institute of Directors, of which he is a member.

Nominated by his colleagues in the Skills for Security management team in the not-for-profit business/charity category, David was short-listed and had to undergo a searching interview by the independent judging panel of business experts. He was placed second, a baton's-length behind the CEO of the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, when the awards were presented at a Champagne Breakfast at Edgbaston Cricket Ground on Tuesday 15th May.

David said: "It was a great compliment to be nominated for the award by my management team but without the dedication and hard work of the management and staff, Skills for Security would not be the professional, dynamic organisation it is today.

"I was definitely 'in it to win it' and would have enjoyed going forward to the national finals but it has been another opportunity to raise the profile and professionalism of the security industry within the West Midlands business sector." www.skillsforsecurity.org.uk
