It's good to see at least two companies in this industry using a special occasion as a marketing opportunity. Euro Access and Ironmongery Direct have each come up with its own European Cup promotion, one a bit of fun with prizes for the individual, the other, lots of special offers to help your business. 

We don't recall seeing anything like this for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee held last week, but maybe the London Olympics will inspire some ideas. We know that times are tough, but its especially when time are tough that you need to think more about marketing yourself and/or your business. It's not too late to put something in your shop window for the European Cup, or to start thinking about Olympics deals in any leafleting or local advertising. After all, it's always better to shave off 20% from 12 items (or 20 items / 12%) for example, for two or three weeks than have 100% of nothing.

Looking forward to 2013, the Locksmiths' Exhibition is a virtual sell-out with 9 months to go! If you have been thinking about re-booking or coming in for the first time, better act now before all the space is taken.
