Call for Olympic security rethink after fatal stabbing
Following a fatal stabbing at the neighbouring Westfield shopping centre, former Metropolitan Police commander Dai Davies has urged a re-think on Olympic security with the Games less than four weeks away. The violent death has been reported widely on the internet with people from around the world openly expressing fears of being attacked by armed gangs.
Westfield, which opened last September and is directly next to a main transport hub, will be the main thoroughfare for Games spectators. It has luxury shops, a casino and dozens of bars but is in one of London's biggest crime spots.
