As we draw closer to October (once the summer is over in a couple of weeks it will be here before you know it) the Auto Locksmiths Exhibition announces that for the first time ever in the UK we will have a demonstration area with live video links to big screens. Sounds exciting!

We're pleased to hear that at last someting is being done to encourage apprenticeships in this industry. We at the Security Media group have long been advocates of learning valuable skills properly and this is one of the reasons that we are solidly behind the Lockdecoders Golden Key Award (worth £500) open to young apprentices and trainees below the age of 25. The Olympics starts on Friday and I'm sure we'll all enjoy watching it without any security disasters now that the police and military are plugging any gaps and after Bradley Wiggins showing the way in the Tour de France we think that we'll probably do at least as well as in Beijing. If not, we'll have something else to moan about...
