Viscount signs distributor agreement with Tri-Ed Distribution

Viscount Systems a leading edge high technology supplier of security systems and software, has announced that the company has signed a distributor agreement with Tri-ED Distribution to begin selling and stocking Viscount's new Liberty access control system at its 65 North American branch locations.

Tri-Ed is said to be North America's largest independent distributor of surveillance, low voltage, home automation and network infrastructure.

"We are very excited to sign this agreement with Tri-Ed," said Stephen Pineau, President of Viscount. "We have been selling our legacy systems and MESH touch screens for many years through Tri-Ed on a project basis, but have now become a stocking partner with our Liberty access control solution. Liberty offers the same security and price advantages of our Freedom access control technology but is packaged and designed for smaller installations of up to twelve doors.

About Viscount's Freedom and Liberty Access Control Solutions

Freedom Encryption Bridge is the first and only access control system that allows entry devices (ID cards, RFID readers, biometrics etc.) to be connected to, and controlled by, standard building IT networks without requiring expensive control panels. This eliminates up to 80% of the cost of traditional access control systems. Freedom also utilizes existing IT permission databases (Microsoft Active Directory or LDAP) to replace the software component of traditional systems. Freedom drastically reduces system costs while providing a much more secure software solution.

Liberty Access has been designed as a simple and affordable "plug'n play" access control system for small-to-medium sized installations for up to 12 doors. Each Liberty system includes a Nanocube, a 2 port Liberty IP Encryption Bridge and 2 RFID readers. Each system can be expanded by simply adding readers and bridges.
