Bob Fitzjohn developed The EasyLock device at his kitchen table after raising more than £10,000 from crowdfunding website, IndieGogo. The device, which weighs less than an iPhone, will completely secure any type of door that opens inwards, anywhere on the globe, providing extra security for guests using hotels, B&Bs, or even beach huts. There is no need to throw out older cameras that are still working, as you add new network devices to your surveillance solution.
The Milestone Husky series of NVRs will now offer versions with integrated encoders that make it simple to connect analog and digital cameras, which run on IP networks, to the same box. Milestone Husky Hybrid NVRs are preinstalled with Milestone VMS and let end users build on their initial investment. The end users can continue to use existing analog cameras and add IP cameras over time for better evidence-quality video and surveillance features. ISM involved with first new-build custody suite for recently established Police Scotland ISM, in collaboration with systems integrator, Scotshield announce a fully integrated custody security management system for Police Scotland at the new Kittybrewster facility in Aberdeen. The new custody suite, costing around £11 million, includes 60 cells, a virtual court, an identity parade suite and accommodation for a local community policing team. Police Scotland, (established 1st April 2013, the second largest force in the UK after the Metropolitan Police), is responsible for policing the length and breadth of Scotland, encompassing some 28,168 square miles. The weather resistant CCTV cameras can be used indoors or outdoors. They record in colour during the daylight and black and white at night, with built-in infrared LEDs providing night vision of up to 20 metres to ensure enhanced security at all times. Ministry of Justice served with £180,000 penalty following encryption errors The Ministry of Justice received a monetary penalty of £180,000 last week following a serious breach of the Data Protection Act. The breach was caused by the loss of an unencrypted hard drive at HMP Erlestoke in Wiltshire in May last year. The drive contained sensitive information relating to 2,935 prisoners.
