That may be true - but this innovative lock assembly just bested one of the Internet's most famous lock-pickers, who calls it "the weirdest lock on Earth." The pin/tumbler mechanism found in simple cylinder locks is notoriously easy to beat. Armed with patience and a few hairpins, most anyone can learn to pick such a lock. 2015 Lockexpo virtually sold out The 2015 Lockexpo at Nottingham has virtually sold out as there are only 3 stands yet to sell. The dates for 2015 are 7th and 8th March at the East Midlands Conference Centre, Nottingham University. Please see the website www.lockexpo.co.uk for further exhibitor details. Further information: [email protected] New guide to using mobile apps securely, as global study raises privacy concerns A survey of over 1,200 mobile apps by 26 privacy regulators from across the world has shown that a high number of apps are accessing large amounts of personal information without adequately explaining how people's information is being used. The survey by the Global Privacy Enforcement Network (GPEN) examined the privacy information provided by 1,211 mobile apps. As a member of GPEN, the Information Commissioner's Office examined 50 of the top apps released by UK developers. The key findings from the research were: Locksmith sues Google & others claiming spam Local Listings illegal A Northern Virginia locksmith has sued Google, Yellowbook (hibu) and Ziplocal under multiple state and federal laws, including the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO), "to remove fraudulent locksmith listings from their search results." The complaint alleges that Google and the other defendants permitted illegal locksmith listings in search results causing $8.4 million in lost earnings/profits to the plaintiff, which was at one point an advertiser in each of the defendant services. Boon Edam expands sales team to accommodate record growth Boon Edam Inc. has announced the hiring of new sales staff and the creation of new roles and departments to meet continued high demand for its security entrance products and revolving doors. The company has experienced record sales in the past four years, much of the growth coming from the sales of security products to Fortune 500 companies.
