Hundreds of smart locks around the world stopped working after the wrong software update was issued Hundreds of LockState smart locks around the world stopped working after the company mistakenly issued the wrong over-the-air (OTA) software update for the devices, according to Ars Technica. UAP locks onto £550k brand push Home and commercial security company UAP has unveiled plans for a six-figure investment to increase brand awareness. The Greater Manchester-based firm is spending around £550k on a new campaign that will include a series of nationwide TV and radio adverts during the next 12 months. The man contacted the locksmith from outside Van Cleef & Arpels jeweller's in Bond Street and said that he had forgotten his keys, according to The Sun newspaper. The locksmith arrived within half an hour of being called about 10.30 on Wednesday evening and let the man in through the double glass doors. Police have not confirmed what was stolen but the thief is thought to have spent up to 45 minutes filling his pockets while the shop alarm rang out.
