A technology company is working on an invisible microwave barrier to boost security at perimeter fences following an investment of nearly £600,000.

Last month in Boston, Lincolnshire, the myth surrounding the idea that CCTV is used only as a deterrent to stop crime was well and truly exploded. On prime-time television, viewers around the globe witnessed a group of youths bending a previously vandalised bike-rack back into position, with CCTV images broadcasting the whole incident with crystal-clear quality.

SSAIB, one of the the UK's leading security certification bodies, has notched up a double achievement with the news that it's gained UKAS accreditation for two increasingly important standards affecting companies operating in the security sector. SSAIB is now accredited for OHSAS 18001, the British Standard for occupational health and safety management systems, as well as ISO14001 Environmental Management Systems.
Viscount Systems a leading edge high technology supplier of security systems and software, has announced that the company has signed a distributor agreement with Tri-ED Distribution to begin selling and stocking Viscount's new Liberty access control system at its 65 North American branch locations.
Tri-Ed is said to be North America's largest independent distributor of surveillance, low voltage, home automation and network infrastructure.
IFSEC Istanbul, organised by UBM Live, has closed its doors for 2013 following a very successful launch event on 30 September - 2nd October. The inaugural IFSEC Istanbul welcomed more than 2,000 visitors from across Southeastern Europe, Central Asia and the Middle East at the Lufti Kirdar Convention and Exhibition Centre, Istanbul, Turkey. More than 57 countries were represented and the exhibition attracted high level security professionals with buying power in excess of $10million.
Zapper's new Scan-to-Pay service help reconcile the £36.4bn currently owed to six out of 10 UK SMEs in late payments. The service makes invoice payments as quick and easy as taking a photograph.
