You'll need a flexible key to open "the weirdest lock on earth."

It's been said there's no such thing as an unpickable lock. That may be true - but this innovative lock assembly just bested one of the Internet's most famous lock-pickers, who calls it "the weirdest lock on Earth."

The pin/tumbler mechanism found in simple cylinder locks is notoriously easy to beat. Armed with patience and a few hairpins, most anyone can learn to pick such a lock. But the pin/tumbler lock you see here is another story entirely. The keyway of its lock assembly is curved.

Security China 2014: first looks at 2nd-generation HDcctv-compliant equipment and 3rd-generation technologies

Surveillance video standards organisation the HDcctv Alliance will host a technology and product Gallery at Security China 2014, in Beijing October 28-31. The first certified HDcctv 2.0-compliant products will be shown by Dahua and Shany. Intersil and Semtech will demonstrate long-reach solutions considered for the HDcctv DT 3.0 standard.

Security spend by Indian firms has come down by 17 per cent

Average security spend by Indian firms has come down by 17 per cent to $ 4 million this year even as information security breaches have become more frequent and damaging. According to consultancy firm PwC, Indian companies spent an average of about $ 4.8 million on security last year.

This is despite the average cost of a security incident for Indian companies spiralling to $ 414 in 2014, from $ 194 in 2013.

Security and safety during the July 2014 event was as always, a priority for the organisers, with an effective CCTV operation being essential. It needed to spot other potential issues, too: vehicle access and crowd movement; anything that may have impacted the comfort of the general public.

The three killers no longer working at Castlecourt shop in Belfast flagship mall

Until recently scheming Colin Boles and Roy Craig worked at Timpson Locksmiths at the CastleCourt complex in Belfast city centre, cutting keys and manning the tills. 

Customers who use the store, which has the motto "great service by great people", had no idea that the seemingly friendly faces at the counter are two of Northern Ireland's most notorious young killers.

The 2014 Alex show "busier than ever"

The 2014 Alex show is now over, we moved to a new venue where we could all fit into one space and without a two day hike to the hall. We had a steady stream of visitors and Sunday was actually busier than Saturday. The exhibitors all reported a busy show with real quality visitors all asking great questions. We had visitors from all over Europe and I heard several non-English conversations. It was also pleasing to see so many ALA members.

Lockdecoders introduce Miracle A9 engraving at ALEX

This new feature of the Miracle A9 was released at ALEX www.alexpo.co.uk in Nottingham on October 4th/5th 2014. 

The software to facilitate engraving is contained in Update 7.6 which was released on September 29th. This brings to the locksmith still more features in the All-In-One machine, the Miracle A9.
