Data Protection law change help for small businesses Data Protection law is changing on 25 May 2018 and organisations need to be ready for the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The ICO has produced a package of tools and resources to help you get ready. The Information Commissioner's Office has produced practical advice on how to comply with data protection law and how to improve data protection practices in your business, including how to keep employees' and customers' personal information secure and how to get ready for the data protection reforms. Full StoryThe new MxBell App makes door stations even smarter MOBOTIX has now released the app MxBell, adding a mobile remote station for MOBOTIX IP Video Door Stations, in addition to the MxDisplay+. The app makes it possible to receive notifications when the doorbell rings and open the door from a mobile device, and even display a live view from the door camera. MxBell can be downloaded free of charge from Apple's App Store and from Google Play. Mitie awarded contract with the Home Office Mitie's Care & Custody business has been awarded a 10-year contract with the Home Office worth an estimated £525million, through a competitive tender process*. The new services reflect the Home Office's commitment to detainee welfare. Mitie will be responsible for escorting immigration detainees, both within the UK and overseas, on removal flights to detainees' home countries. The contract, which will start in May 2018, also includes the management of a number of fixed facilities throughout the UK, including airport holding rooms, reporting centres, and two short term holding facilities. Electric Locks offer solution to City of London office building. Architectural Ironmonger G. Johns and Sons of London were involved with the specification for an access control system at the office block in the City of London, whereby the client wanted a flexible access control system with the minimum of ironmongery on the doors and did not require the use of surface mounted electro-magnetic locks. They required a modern office appearance with clean stylish lines, with a high level of security and the flexibility to offer office space to their clients. Jeremy Barltrop of G. Johns chose to use the Securefast ASEL2460 Electric Escape Lock on the two doors on each landing of the five story building with Karcher Stainless Steel lever handles and connected via heavy duty conductor hinges to a reader on the outside of the doors. Beaver Access installs SALTO access control system at Liberty Living London Beaver Access, the Croydon based access control specialist, is helping to ensure the safety of students at two Liberty Living properties in London with the installation of an innovative SALTO access control solution. Allegion appoints new business development manager for UK, South East Safety and security solutions provider Allegion UK has appointed Karen Trigg as business development manager to develop and strengthen new and existing business opportunities in the South East.
Trigg joins Allegion UK following 23 years of experience working with architects, contractors and end users.
