Following on from numerous meetings and extensive negotiations, the Master Locksmiths Association are delighted to announce they received on the 21st of March confirmation from Angeleen Hill, Scheme Manager at CSCS, stating: "The occupation of Locksmith and Safe Engineer will be removed from the CSCS scheme this week."

A Lithuanian man has been charged with tricking two US technology firms into wiring him $100m (£80.3m) through an email phishing scam. Posing as an Asian-based manufacturer, Evaldas Rimasauskas tricked staff into transferring money into bank accounts under his control, US officials said.
The companies were not named but were described as US-based multinationals, with one operating in social media. Officials called it a wake-up call for even "the most sophisticated" firms.Full Story
MPs were told by one of parliament's top officials that their security was fine as long as they were within the Palace of Westminster, just 24 hours before an attacker managed to breach its perimeter fence and stab a police officer to death. Eric Hepburn, parliament's director of security, gave evidence to MPs that the "real vulnerability" for members of parliament was in their constituencies.Full Story

A new study, which estimates the carbon footprint of burglary prevention measures, has found that the best options from both an environmental and security point of view are door and window locks. This is because they are not only more effective at preventing crime, but also more environmentally friendly, having a much lower carbon footprint than other measures, such as burglar alarms or CCTV.
Introduced in early 2016, the MLA's change to a Modular Training Programme has been a huge success, not only from a student numbers perspective, but also from a student feedback perspective!
