Sargent and Greenleaf launches Digital Hood Defence Secures ATM units from malware and jackpotting attacks. Compatible with S&G's Digital Platform products, this innovative device increases the overall security of ATM units by protecting the hood from jackpotting attacks - whereby malware has been attached to an ATM to rapidly access money - without compromising convenience for operators. New Openow app creates secure virtual key for SMARTair The ASSA ABLOY Door Hardware & Access Control Group has unveiled Openow, a new mobile solution for users of its SMARTair wireless access control system. Openow allows SMARTair users to open doors with their mobile phone and the Openow app, meaning access credentials can be granted, revoked and updated instantly, from wherever the user may be. EZVIZ launches its brand new Wi-Fi Indoor Smart Security Cam series into the UK market The EZVIZ Indoor Security Cam is the perfect entry-level device for those looking to protect their home and keep an eye on their property when away or on holiday. Compatible with Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant and IFTTT devices, the Indoor Security Cam allows users to view live streams via the Echo Show/Spot and Google hub devices, all whilst offering a 110/130-degree viewing angle on each model respectively. British Airways faces record £183m fine for data breach British Airways is facing a record fine of £183m for last year's breach of its security systems. The airline, owned by IAG, says it is "surprised and disappointed" by the penalty from the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). At the time, BA said hackers had carried out a "sophisticated, malicious criminal attack" on its website. The ICO said it was the biggest penalty it had handed out and the first to be made public under new rules. Chris Staunton, aged 20, started working at JM Security Systems, in Summer Lane, in April this year after spending 18 months at another firm. After being fast-tracked through his training by Skills for Security, the accredited apprenticeship provider, Chris has now completed his Level 3 Fire, Emergency Systems and Security apprenticeship, attaining distinctions in two out of three modules. New Johnson Controls showroom and training facility opens in Ireland Tyco, the security products division of Johnson Controls, has announced the opening of its new state-of-the-art interactive showroom and training facility in Ireland. Located in the Ballymount area of Dublin, the new showroom facility provides the opportunity for system integrators and their end-user clients to see live demonstrations of the innovative features and ground breaking technology built-into the latest generation of Access Control and Video Surveillance (ACVS) solutions supplied under the Tyco umbrella.
